1. Synopsis of Record of Ragnarok
Record of Ragnarok is a Netflix original anime that tells the story of the battle between Gods and humans. The goal is to prove whether humans are still worthy of inhabiting the world.
The story begins when a routine gathering of the Gods is held once every thousand years. At that time, all the Gods agreed to level all human existence. However, one of the 13 Valkyries of Valhalla, namely Brunhilde, proposes to carry out a battle to determine the fate of humanity.
In order to maintain the dignity of the Gods, they agreed to hold Ragnarok, namely a battle between 13 humans and 13 Gods in one-on-one combat.
Brunhilde began preparing the strongest heroes in human history and directing them to victory in order to defend the lives of all mankind.
2. A lineup of staff and voice actors
The anime adaptation of Record of Ragnarok is by studio Graphinica which is known for the anime Hellsing, Juuni Taisen, Arslan Senki, and many more. Apart from that, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu was the director for the first season, while the second season was directed by Yuka Yamada.
In Record of Ragnarok Season 2, Graphinica collaborated with Yumeta Company, the animation studio that worked on Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
This ONA presents a line of talented voice actors. Among them are Miyuki Sawashiro (Brunhilde), Souma Saitou (Adam), Kazuhiro Yamaji (Kojirou Sasaki), Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Shiva), Takahiro Sakurai (Poseidon), and many more.
3. Anime original Netflix
As previously mentioned, Record of Ragnarok is an Original Net Animation (ONA) presented directly by Netflix. This means that the anime adaptation of this manga will not be broadcast on other platforms, including television.
Record of Ragnarok Season 1 was released on June 17 2021 with a total of only 12 episodes. However, the story in the anime doesn’t stop there. Netflix will release the second season of ONA again on January 26 2023. Reportedly, Record of Ragnarok Season 2 will consist of 15 episodes.
