Get to know Yu-Gi-Oh!, Popular Manga by Kazuki Takahashi

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –One of the things that many children of the ’90s and early millennium watched was the manga and anime Yu-Gi-Oh! which is the work of Kazuki Takahashi.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is a manga by Kazuki Takahashi which was first published in Japan in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1996.

The manga is so popular both in Japan and globally, that the franchise has been adapted for various platforms.

This manga tells the story of Yugi Mutou, a shy boy who also likes playing games and is often the victim of bullying. One day, he solves an ancient puzzle called the Millennium Puzzle which makes his body possessed by a mysterious spirit.

The spirit turns out to be named Atem, a 3,000 year old pharaoh spirit who lost his memory. From then on, the spirit would possess Yugi whenever he or one of his friends was bullied.

The spirit will challenge bullies to a game called Shadow Games. For people who lose the game, they will be given a cruel punishment called Penalty Game.

Yu-Gi-Oh was later adapted into a number of anime, one of the most popular being Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. The anime starts the story from manga volume 7, telling the story of Yugi Mutou who fights in the Duel Monsters card game.

After defeating his rival in Duel Monsters, Seto Kaiba, Yugi is approached by Maximillion Pegasus who is the creator of the game. Maximillion Pegasus apparently used a power called the Millennium Eye to kidnap Yugi’s grandfather’s soul.

He finally joined Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, and Tea Gardner to take part in the Duelist Kingdom tournament in order to defeat Pegasus and free his grandfather’s soul.

The franchise then succeeded in attracting many fans on the global stage. Yu-Gi-Oh! also adapted into various formats other than manga and anime. Some of them are real versions of Yu-Gi-Oh card games, video games, toys, and a number of other products.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Yu-Gi-Oh world is the cards used in Duel Monsters. Each card has a monster with various powers that are used to fight in the game.

These cards were created by Kazuki Takahashi and developed into a game called Magic & Wizards

There are three versions of the game that have been created. The first version was known as Carddas and was released by Bandai in September 1998. The second and third versions were released by Konami in 1998 and 1999 with more sophisticated formats and rules.

Several cards are also very popular among fans, such as Master of Dragon Soldier, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Five-Headed Dragon, Gate Guardian, and Black Skull Dragon.

The man who was born on October 4 1961 is famous for his work which has become a favorite among Shonen manga and video game lovers, Yu-Gi-Oh!

He started as a manga artist in 1982. His first work was entitled Fighting Hawk which was released in 1990. However, his name did not become famous until several works later.

Kazuki Takahashi only started to become known after his work Yu-Gi-Oh! sold well on the market when it was released in 1996.

Yu-Gi-Oh! It was also one of the first manga to be adapted into anime by Toei Animation in October 1998 and became one of the best-selling media franchises of all time.
