Dragon Ball – The story of Akira Toriyama creating the most famous Japanese manga in the world

At that time, Toriyama began to expand his references.

The creator of Dragon Ball claims to have been a fan of Disney animated films as a child (his favorite was 101 Dalmatians ), likes cowboy films (directed by Sergio Leone), science fiction (Toriyama likes to reference Star Wars in his works), as well as action films (such as films starring Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and the film Aliens directed by James Cameron).

Dragon Ball first appeared in Shounen Weekly magazine in 1985. The manga tells the story of Son Goku, a boy with a monkey tail who joins the adventure of searching for dragon balls.

The manga was inspired by many sources, including the comedy film ” Drunken Master ” in 1978. The film, starring Jackie Chan, tells the story of a young man who learns “drunken monkey” martial arts from his uncle.

Toriyama also added the monkey king’s powers to the main character of his manga, including the ability to surf on clouds.

Dragon Ball Impact

In 1996, when Toriyama stopped writing the manga for Dragon Ball Z , which was none other than the sequel to Dragon Ball , he had written almost 9,000 pages of Son Goku’s adventures.

In 1996, after writing thousands of pages about Son Goku and other Dragon Ball characters , Toriyama decided to move on to shorter projects.

He later published a number of short manga including Cowa! (1997), Kajika (1998), Sand Land (2000), and Nekomajin (1999). He also redesigned the cover of Dragon Ball Z for its re-release in the mid-2000s.

In 2012, Toriyama returned to the Dragon Ball universe . He was involved in writing the animated film ” Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods ” and writing the script for the latest film ” Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes “.

Toriyama is very outspoken about his work and even admits that he doesn’t understand how he can be so successful.

“It really doesn’t make sense to me. Short Storyline of “One Piece”

About One Piece, this was originally an event told through a Japanese manga series. Gradually the One Piece story, which started from manga and comics, became booming, which made its popularity skyrocket.

One Piece tells the adventures of a ‘ Good Pirate ‘ named Monkey D. Luffy , a boy who has the magic of making his body elastic like rubber after he ate a Devil Fruit he accidentally discovered.

Animator Makoto Shinkai Releases Latest Anime Film “Suzume no Tojimari” Inspired by the 2011 Earthquake & Tsunami

The film Suzume tells the story of the journey of a girl named Suzume starting in a quiet town in Kyushu (located in southwest Japan) when she meets a young man who tells her, “I’m looking for a door.” What Suzume found was a single, weathered door standing tall amidst the ruins as if protected from whatever calamity might strike. Seemingly drawn by its power, Suzume grabbed the knob… The doors began to open one after another all over Japan, unleashing destruction on anyone nearby. Suzume must close this portal to prevent further disaster.

Makoto Shinkai as the director and story maker of the film Suzume was inspired to create the story Suzume no Tojimari based on a phenomenon that had occurred in his country, Japan. Musim panas lalu, anime fantasi Isekai Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation yang dibuat dengan sangat baik kembali membuktikan kualitasnya yang tinggi dan akan kembali pada awal musim semi tahun 2024.

Berdasarkan novel ringan oleh Rifujin na Magonote yang berakhir pada tahun 2022, adaptasi animenya dimulai pada tahun 2021 dan memikat banyak penggemar.

Musim kedua tayang pada tahun 2023 dengan total 13 episode, termasuk Episode 0 yang menampilkan reuni Rudeus dan teman masa kecilnya.

Bertempat di dunia fiksi ilmiah, ini adalah anime aksi pahlawan di mana anggota Angkatan Pertahanan bertarung melawan monster bernama Kaiju yang menyerang seperti bencana alam seperti topan dan tsunami.

Anime Review: Attack on Titan Season 1

Known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin, many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls — but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill — or be devoured!

After his hometown is destroyed and his mother is killed, young Eren Yeager vows to cleanse the earth of the giant humanoid Titans that have brought humanity to the brink of extinction.

My Spoiler-Free Review

This show really lived up to the hype.

I’m always hesitant about starting shows with masses of hype around them. Attack on Titan is a very popular anime, and I tried to go into it with reserved expectations so I wasn’t disappointed if it didn’t live up to the hype, but oh boy, it surpassed my expectations by miles.

The show sets the tone of the series within the first episode. Action, horror, heartbreak. You get stabbed in the heart straight off the bat as you experience the beginning of the main character, Eren’s, journey with his mother being eaten by a giant titan, and then having to run for his life to avoid being eaten himself. He’s a character full of pain and anger that boils within him, and he joins an elite group of soldiers within the military, determined to put an end to the creatures that destroyed his peaceful life.

It’s one thing after another with this show. Plot twists, epic fights, people-eating titans, you name it. Betrayal, blossoming friendships, huge battles, epic powers, politics, and more. It has a bit of everything in it.

Attack on Titan is so intense and unpredictable, with a great cast of characters that you grow to love (or hate), all with their own personalities and goals that sometimes conflict with one another as they try to survive in this post-apocalyptic style world. My personal favourites are Armin, Levi, and Jean.

This is a show that has you ride an emotional roller-coaster with every episode. Sometimes you’ll want to cry, or you’ll rage, and sometimes you’ll laugh out loud. There are huge plot twists that’ll leave your jaw hanging on the floor and render you unable to trust anyone. There’s powerful and epic moments, dark and gruesome ones, and heartfelt and sweet ones sprinkled in to a very intriguing plotline. At the very heart of it, its about a flawed humanity beating almost-impossible odds to defend the last of their kin from man-eating monsters they know next to nothing about.

What are these giant people-eating beings they call titans? Where did they come from? Can they be stopped? As humanity’s numbers dwindle, is the fight against them as hopeless as it seems? The protagonist, Eren, despite being blinded by rage and hatred towards the titans that destroyed his old life, unintentionally sheds some light into these beings and provides the military with a way to fight back.

The animation and art style is beautiful, and the soundtrack is amazing. It may not be as colourful as other anime, as it’s a pretty unhappy and dreary world to live in — humanity is hiding behind several giant, stone walls that keep out the masses of titans that want to eat them — but it’s amazing all the same. The music sucks you in too, and really makes you feel all the emotions of each scene.

Overall, this was such a great watch. The first season was amazing, and I’m very much looking forward to (but also dreading) starting season 2. Season 1 was left on a ‘this changes everything’ note with what they knew previously about the titan situation being shattered, and the danger being revealed to be closer to home than humanity originally thought. It has a little something for everyone, so I’d highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it already.

Anime Bleach TYBW Part 2 Review, Surprise New Characters and Powers!

After Bleach released the anime part Thousand-Year Blood War part 1 last year, in 2023 studio Aniplex and Viz Media will release the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War part 2 with the additional title The Separation.

In Indonesia, the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War part 2 The Separation is broadcast on the online streaming platforms Netflix, Bstation/Bilibili, iQIYI Indonesia and YouTube Ani-One Asia. This anime , which is usually abbreviated as Bleach TYBW Part 2, consists of 13 very exciting episodes.

Several years ago I read the Indonesian edition of the Bleach comic published by the publisher M&C! until the end. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War picks up the ending of the phenomenal saga about shinigami produced by the famous mangaka Tite Kubo.

Tite Kubo himself in his interview said that in this latest anime there were several parts that did not appear in the comic because at that time the comic itself was meeting the deadline for the end of the story. So the Bleach TYBW Part 2 anime really received special attention from Tite Kubo. Where there are several additional parts of the story that were created and approved by Tite Kubo.

Makes you even more curious!

Let’s first look at a bit or two of the synopsis of the anime Bleach TYBW Part 2 The Separation:

Return to Soul Society which was destroyed due to attacks from Quincy soldiers. The first episode of the anime Bleach TYBW Part 2 The Separation is the last 9 days! The countdown begins again…

Ichigo Kurosaki begins O unit training with Ichibe Yousube at the king’s palace. Rukia and Renji also train together, just in different places from Ishigo.

At the same time, Uryuu Ishida was appointed by Yhwach to be his successor in the Quincy kingdom. This sparked whispers of displeasure from the Stern Ritters, Quincy’s top troops.

Diperlihatkan juga keadaan Orihime dan Chad yang memulai latihan baru mereka di Hueco Mundo. Sementara Kisuke Uruhara meneliti tentang mendali Quincy yang mengambil ban-kai Shinigami. Ada juga penampakan hollow yang sudah kita kenal dari musim-musim sebelumnya.

Kemudian serangan kedua dari para tentara Quincy dimulai. Pertarungan antara Shinigami dan Quincy semakin sengit, berdarah dan memilukan. Agresi kekuatan besar dari Quincy terus berlanjut. Para Shinigami yang telah kembali bisa mengeluarkan ban-kai pun unjuk kekuatan.

Apakah Yhwach bisa bertemu dengan sang Raja? Benarkah Uryuu telah berpaling dari Ichigo dkk?

Nah, mari kita mulai review singkat dan kesan setelah menonton anime Bleach TYBW Part 2 The Separation:

+ Sinematik & CG Animasi 5/5. Studio Aniplex dan Viz Media telah bekerja keras menghasilkan anime Bleach denga CG era terbaru. Tone warna animasinya sungguh kontras dan keras tapi ciamik.

+ Scoring 5/5. Ah, ost lagu pembuka dan penutup sungguh sangat Bleach tapi dengan gaya kekinian. Apalagi dengan scoring dari lagu Ishigo berjudul Number One. Makin membuat semangat penggemar lama anime Bleach.

+ Aksi10/5. Delicious! Pokoknya Bleach dengan adegan pertarungannya yang beragam dan ciamik ini menghibur mereka penggemar anime shounen. Hmm, adegan aksi favorit? Sebenarnya setiap epsiode punya rasa serunya masing-masing. Apalagi setiap karakter punya kekuatan dan keunikannya masing-masing.

Sejauh ini, pertarungan kapten Zaraki Kenpachi selalu masuk nominasi 5 besar pertarungan favorit saya. Kapten divisi 13 ini telah berhasil memanggil ban-kai miliknya yang tidak pernah dia gubris.

Kapten Hitsugaya Toushiro juga. Apalagi beberapa detail adegan aksi terlihat berbeda dengan yang saya baca di komik. Hal ini membuat anime Bleach TYBW Part 2 The Separation menjadi semakin seru.

Kemudian, ya kemudian. Masih ada beberapa penampakan ban-kai lain yang belum pernah terlihat di musim-musim sebelum. Renji telah menemuan nama lengkap ban-kai miliknya. Rukia Kuchiki berhasil menunjukkan kekuatan yang cantik juga mematikan dari zanpakutonya yang bernama Sode no Shiroyuki.

+ Plot cerita 4/5. Pada bagian kedua anime Bleach TYBW ada kemajuan cerita berupa status Ishida Uryuu, kembalinya ban-kai para kapten dan Yhwach yang mencapai area divisi 0.

+ Karakter 5/5. Jika kita merasa karakter Bleach sudah banyak dari musim-musim sebelumnya maka bagian Thousand-Year Blood War makin menambah daftar karakter unik dari dunia Bleach. Dari segi pasukan Quincy maupun para Shinigami yang jelas-jelas memiliki 13 divisi dengan para kaptennya yang unik.

+ Humor 3/5 bintang. Ada beberapa kekocakan dari fasial wajah dan gerakan tubuh serta beberapa joke ala Jepang. Cukup meringankan diantara pertarungan Quincy dan Shinigami.

+ Gore 4/5 bintang. Cukup banyak warna merah yang berasosiasi pada darah ataupun pertarungan berdarah. Rating umur penonton pun 13+ karena memuat cerita yang cukup berat, beberapa kata kasar dan kebrutalan.

+ Rating keseluruhan adalah 5/5 bintang untuk anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War part 2 The Separation. Ceritanya seru, karakternya unik-unik, konflik membuat penasaran, lagunya membangkitkan semangat dan adegan aksinya sunguh kece.
